Bienestar, salud mental óptima y florecimiento: esclareciendo y diferenciando conceptos complejos

Resumo

Antecedentes: este artigo teórico revisa empírica e detalhadamente os conceitos de bem-estar, saúde mental ótima/positiva, tipos de bem-estar e florescimento, com o objetivo de esclarecer e diferenciar com base no que a literatura científica atual oferece, e considerando que eles são frequentemente usados como sinônimos ou como termos intercambiáveis. Estado da arte: vários critérios para inclusão e referência do que normalmente consideramos "positivo" e "negativo" em estudos científicos sobre bem-estar e angústia (doença, patogênico, decadência) são explicados e propostos como uma estrutura confiável e um guia para futuras pesquisas e metodologias de trabalho relacionadas aos construtos aqui estudados, bem como um meio de apoio na elaboração e no enriquecimento das próprias definições. Além disso, são propostos e articulados conceitos específicos e diferenciados de bem-estar, saúde mental ideal e florescimento, que são reconhecidos como independentes, mas inter-relacionados. Conclusões: a revisão da literatura e a análise das informações levaram ao surgimento de um novo conceito chamado "bem-estar integrativo", que busca compilar os tipos existentes de bem-estar e saúde mental que, juntos, conduzem ao florescimento individual e social. Dessa forma, buscamos impactar o uso de uma terminologia adequada, atual e funcional, devido à complexidade e ao dinamismo dos termos; confiando, além disso, que ela permitirá que pesquisadores e diversos profissionais criem e desenvolvam instrumentos de avaliação, bem como possíveis aplicações práticas nos campos clínico, educacional, social, político, trabalhista ou outros.
