La edición de revistas científicas es un proceso que se distingue por exigencias elevadas y suma competitividad, como lo evidencian las crecientes tasas de rechazo de los manuscritos sometidos al arbitraje. Hoy, más que nunca, la comunidad científica tiene una clara conciencia de que las revistas son la principal plataforma de difusión e intercambio de información original, rigurosa y honesta. Es por ello que la tarea editorial es realizada por un equipo cohesionado; en primer lugar, los editores asociados son los primeros en evaluar la calidad y originalidad de los manuscritos y, en caso de aceptación, presentarlos de tal manera que se pueda garantizar el cumplimiento de los estándares internacionales establecidos; en segundo lugar la participación del comité científico como último filtro especializado que bajo la modalidad de revisión doble ciego asegura la objetividad de la evaluación de los manuscritos a fin de que contribuyan con nuevos conocimientos para el avance de nuestra ciencia.

Esto trae beneficios para los participantes: los autores tienen la seguridad de que sus contribuciones serán evaluadas de manera objetiva, publicadas con trato profesional y cuidado editorial, asegurándose así que sus investigaciones sean difundidas de manera seria; la revista, se fortalece por la importancia de los estudios que reporta y adquiere prestigio por las contribuciones que aparecen en sus páginas; la disciplina eleva sus niveles de actualización y desarrollo; finalmente, se beneficia la sociedad, puesto que los resultados de las investigaciones muchas veces dan lugar a consecuencias prácticas en el campo profesional y, en otros casos, sirven de estímulo para el desarrollo o la profundización de líneas de estudio.

Liberabit no es la excepción a todo lo dicho en los párrafos precedentes. Con la colaboración de los editores asociados, los miembros del comité científico y el comité de producción, viene desplegando todos los esfuerzos a fin de alcanzar los estándares internacionales que tienen vigencia en el campo académico de la psicología.

Nos complace por ello el que hayamos sido incluidos recientemente en Scielo Citation Index (Web of Sciences) de United Kingdom, Emerging Sources Citation Index (Web of Sciences) de United Kingdom y en Proquest, Databases, EBooks and Technology for Research de United States of America. Estas inclusiones son al mismo tiempo reconocimiento y un desafío, pues recompensa los esfuerzos que venimos desplegando pero, al mismo tiempo, forma parte de un proceso de mejora continua, que demanda ser superado a través de nuevos reconocimientos.

Todos los que participamos en la tarea de la elaboración de un nuevo número de Liberabit nos alegramos ante estos logros, reiteramos nuestro compromiso por elevar el nivel de nuestra revista, agradecemos a los autores que desde diversas latitudes nos remiten sus contribuciones, e invitamos a todos los especialistas en las ciencias del comportamiento a enviar sus manuscritos.

Liberabit, como todas las revistas científicas, se nutre de las ideas, los entusiasmos y los esfuerzos de todos: editores, redactores, autores, revisores, y, por supuesto, el público lector. Nadie puede faltar, dado que sin la presencia de uno de ellos, el sentido de esta publicación se vería mellado.

No podemos terminar sin expresar nuestro reconocimiento a la Universidad de San Martín de Porres, casa de estudios con un poco más de medio siglo de existencia, que ofrece el escenario institucional promotor y garantizador de la continuidad de esta revista, cumpliendo, a través de ella y de otras publicaciones que su Fondo Editorial acoge, con la tarea de promoción del saber y de trabajo para la forja de una sociedad peruana cada día más digna de quienes formamos parte de ella.

EDITORIAL

The editing of scientific journals is a process which is marked by high demands and utmost competitiveness, as evidenced by the rising rejection rates of the manuscripts submitted to arbitration. Today, more than ever, the scientific community has a very strong perception of the journals as the main platform for dissemination and exchange of original, accurate and honest information. That is why the publishing activity is carried out by a cohesive team; first of all, the associate editors are the first ones to assess the quality and originality of the manuscripts and, if approved, they are submitted in such a way that the compliance with the established international standards can be guaranteed; secondly, the scientific committee participates as the last specialized filter which, under the double-blind peer review system, ensures the objectivity in the evaluation process of the manuscripts, so that they are a contribution to new insights for the advancement of our science.

This benefits the participants: Authors are assured that their contributions are objectively evaluated, published with professional touch and editorial supervision, thereby ensuring that their researches are disseminated in a professional manner. The journal is strengthened by the relevance of the reported studies and its reputation is built by the contributions contained within its pages. The discipline sets its higher standards of upgradability and development. And lastly, society benefits from this since the research findings often lead to practical implications within the professional field and, in other instances, serve as an incentive for the development or insight of lines of study.

Liberabit is no exception to all the information described in the preceding paragraphs. In cooperation with the associate editors, the scientific committee members and the production committee, Liberabit is pursuing all efforts in order to meet the international standards existing in the academic field of psychology.

We are therefore pleased to have been recently included Scielo Citation Index (Web of Sciences) from the United Kingdom, Emerging Sources Citation Index (Web of Sciences) from the United Kingdom and in Proquest - Databases, EBooks and Technology for Research from the United States of America. These incorporations are simultaneously an acknowledgement and a challenge, thus our ongoing efforts are rewarded but, at the same time, take part in a continuous improvement process that is required to be surpassed through further acknowledgement.

Every party involved in the elaboration activity of a new issue of Liberabit is glad before these achievements; we reiterate our commitment to raise the bar on our journal level; we are grateful to the authors who, from different latitudes, forward their contributions; and every expert on behavioral sciences is invited to submit their manuscripts.

Liberabit is, like all scientific journals, nurtured by the ideas, enthusiasm and efforts from everyone involved: editors, writers, authors, peer reviewers, proofreaders and, of course, the reading public. None of these parties can be missing, thus the absence of a single member can dent the purpose of this publishing.

We cannot close without expressing our gratitude to the Universidad de San Martín de Porres, university of over half a century of existence, which offers the institutional setting that promotes and safeguards the survival of this journal, in compliance with, through Liberabit along with other publications from its Editorial Fund, the task of fostering knowledge and work to build a Peruvian society increasingly more dignified for those who form part of it.
